Dr. Lovelyn Francisco Hababag Daet obtained her medical degree from Far Eastern University- Dr. Nicanor Reyes Memorial Medical Foundation. She took her residency training at Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Foundation, one of the accredited institution of the Philippine Dermatological Society.

She is a consistent honor student during her primary and secondary years. And an academic scholar during her college years, taking up BS. Medical Technology in the same university. She has received various awards like Ambassador Yuchengco National Discipline Awardee (1996), Excellence in Clinical Chemistry (2001), First Price-Case Report Paper Presentation during her Medical Internship (2006).

After passing the physician licensure examination at one take, she decided to further train to become a dermatologist. When asked why dermatology?

“Dermatology is my first love. Back in our medical school years, we don’t have proper training in dermatology, so I was challenged to learn more, so I can diagnose skin diseases.  Dermatology may sounds superficial but it covers a lot of diagnoses from immune-mediated diseases like blistering diseases, infectious diseases, allergic reaction, bacterial infections, and a lot more. A real dermatologist must be able to recognize complex skin lesions or diseases not just the common cosmetic problems like acne, melasma, enlarged facial pores, etc. With the advent of so many so called pseudo- dermatologist, it is our responsibility to educate patients as to whom to entrust our skin concerns. Go to a PDS dermatologist, one who has adequate years of residency training in an accredited institution.”

Dermatology is fast evolving. New trends and techniques are being introduced every now and then.    Dr. Lovelyn H. Daet continuously attends seminars, trainings and workshops.

She had her fellowship training in Dermatologic Laser Surgery at Ramathibodi Hospital, Bangkok Thailand last September 2015. She was lucky enough to observe well-known dermatologists in their respective clinics in Bangkok like Dr. Atchima Suwnachinda and Dr. Nantapat Suphapannachart.

She is a Fellow of the Philippine Dermatological Society and a member of the International Society of Dermatology.

During her early years of practice, she started with health insurance medical clinics. Despite minimal fee to her services, she offered her time and services. She believed it was an opportunity to hone her craft and skills.

She was one of those who pioneered well- known brands or clinics nowadays, acting as a senior dermatology consultant.

Her experiences in serving different institutions widen her horizons and broaden her skills. She has various clients from all walks of life; celebrities, models, artists, business people, students, medical colleagues, professionals, and many more.

She acted as a dermatology consultant during Skin Week Outreach Program of Galderma Philippines. She was invited as a guest speaker and reactor at Fabella Hospital, Department of Pediatrics on topic about Blistering disease and as a speaker on Importance of Sunscreen at Land Bank Head Office organized by Healthway Medical Clinic.

Most of her clients are repeat clients and referrals.

She is hands – on. She does the extraction and pricking during facials to make sure that patients get the best of every treatment.

She is hardworking and persevering. She even attended to one patient despite the heavy rain and flood just to get the treatment done before the patient flew back to Japan.

She is a confidant and a counselor. She treats her patients as one of her family. No doubt her clinic gets packed when her patients bring their whole family for treatment.

She is a dedicated doctor. She even gives free consultation, and low cost treatment alternative to patients who can’t afford costly procedures. She even discourages patients who don’t need the treatment.

She is meticulous for cleanliness and orderliness. She makes sure that every detail leaves no unturned. She sees to it that every instrument used is properly sterilized prior to every use.

She has an eye for fashion, arts and beauty. She designs her new clinic to come up with an elegant feminine look and collaborated it with her architects for the actual execution. She shops for the interior fixes herself to bring a personal touch to her clinic. Most of her clients were amazed by the new chic look and asked if she hired an interior designer.

She was born and raised in Sorsogon City by her parents who are Filipino – Chinese Businessmen.

Currently, she lives a simple and happy life with her husband who is also a practicing physician, a Cardiologist.  She is a doting mother to Eliana, now 6, a smart and talkative girl. “Don’t worry, my mom is a good doctor!” Eliana said to one of the patients in the clinic.

During her spare time, she prefers to stay at home. She cooks, she writes (she even wrote an article for Manila Bulletin and Youngblood, Inquirer), and she does bead works and craft.  She does yoga , zumba and jogging to keep her fit and energetic.

Her guilty pleasures, she pampers herself with massage or spa to relieve her from daily stress.

She wears minimal make-up daily. She is a regular sunscreen user and she uses a mild wash on her face and body. She does mild fruit-based peeling to remove dead skin on a regular basis. She moisturizes regularly.

Her advice to achieve a young glowing healthy skin, “ Taking care of our skin must be consistent, there is no exact formula as we have different skin types, treatment may vary from one patient to another, so entrust your skin to a real dermatologist who can assess you personally and create a treatment plan for your skin concerns.” – Dr. Lovelyn.
